MAC - 2024 MMI Results
In August 2024, two small MMI (Mobile Metal Ion) grids were sampled on the MAC Nickel Claims.
Although the results are currently being analyzed, significant initial results including highly anomalous Nickel, Magnesium, Cobalt and Molybdenum and Copper have been identified.
From a possible discovery point of view, a significant Molybdenum - Copper anomaly appears on the eastern flank of the (smaller) N. Grid, which may indicate the possibility of continued mineralization extending from either the Pond Zone area or the main Trembleur Ultramafic intrusion hosting the 248 million tonne Camp Zone Mo/Cu Deposit. Additional sampling will be required to establish if the anomalous Mo/Cu continues east, southeast or in both directions. The Pond and Camp Zones are located approximately 2.25 and 2.7 km distant to the E and SE from this recent discovery.
In 2012, a strong magnetic anomaly 1.5 km west of the new Mo/Cu anomaly was thought to be the possible intrusive source of the original Pond Zone mineralization but has never been followed up with additional prospecting or drilling.
The larger South Grid (seen below), has returned compelling initial geochemical results adding to the belief, a significant Awaruite Nickel deposit is pending discovery through drilling. The area is approximate 1 km Wide x 1 km Long x with the expectation of running to a depth of 300m, has potential to host up to a 1 Billion tonnes of awaruite nickel mineralization.
Interestingly, the largest awaruite grains and DTR (Davis Tube Recovery) results seen on the MAC Nickel claims to date are located in the NW area of the claim block. Unfortunately this highly prospective area has not seen any work since 2012. With everything considered, the possibility for the discovery of multiple deposits across the MAC property remains strong.
